It's been a terribly long time since we've updated this page. That doesn't mean we've been hibernating; probably means we've been busy and too lazy to update with our mostly hum-drum news. We're currently in process of trying to get a good design to add-on to the very tiny little cottage we call home. Designers we've met with have either been way too flakey to be good for business or not as accommodating as we'd like (and we're not really very picky people). David's been on several interesting business trips to DC and to South Carolina over the past few weeks with new projects and goings-on with Floyd. Which is nice. Giao's been re-interviewed for her own position at Allstate (we should learn in a couple of weeks if she (as well as everyone else in her role at Allstate) still has a job. In the meantime, she's been crafting like a mad woman and has started up a site to sell her goods at The Walrus & The Carpenter. Swing by and visit, see what's what, make suggestions, etc.! David's been very crafty as well, with builing robots from Lego. We're both very enthusiastic with our little hobbies, and that is great and all. Except we are really running out of room in the house to hold all our things we do. Our garage sale on May 15-16 didn't clear nearly enough of our things. At all. So. We need to quickly find a good architect-designer and get on with it already! We will be heading to the UK shortly, and that should be fun! Stay tuned and all that. We'll try to be better at keeping interesting news up-to-date. But not much more has been going than already noted....
On other update fronts, Giao's been trying to update her homepage, which had been sitting idle for a couple years with everything else going on. Nothing earth-shattering to be found at that site, just another exercise in practicing the design stuff she picked up from her certificate program. Somewhat newsworthy --Giao has finally taken the first step to making Williams her official surname: a painless and 20-minute visit to the Social Security office on 24 January has at least gotten the ball rolling. When her new identity arrives, it will then be off to the DMV...
Our wedding announcement was published at home today in the South Bend Tribune. The link to the active page is good for the month, we think, and then after that it costs something like 2 dollars to access the archive. But, we've downloaded the page for all-access all the time. =)
Happy 2003, everybody! We kicked off the new year in Giao's favorite style: wrapped up on the couch and watching TV! Though it was very kind of several of you to invite us out of our cocoon for New Year's Eve, we think in the end we really needed a quiet night in. It was fab. We've updated Photo Central with more pics, which we've learned are more easily accessible on Shutterfly than on Snapfish. There, you'll find links to our honeymoon pics, Punta Cana pics, etc., etc. Still working slowly on scanning in the pics Tone took...there's a
sneak preview pic
hanging about for now. Check back again soon for more updates...and have a wonderful 2003.
Giao's updated the monkeygnome home page. Links should be functional. Photo Central is updated here. You can check out table camera photos (there are some really great kooky ones in there), see the digital photos of October 12 taken by Ngai and Lan Chu, check out our Snapfish albums (though, you might need us to send the links to the varrious albums to you and you'll need to sign into SnapFish with your own user ID), flip through our engagement pics, and eventually, see the photos taken professionally by Tone Stockenstrom.

11 november 2002:
We've picked up our professional photographs! Tone and her assistant Brenna took a load of great candids and photojournalistic pics. All in all, lots of gorgeous photos. Giao was somewhat disappointed to find that some of the photos on the shoot list hadn't quite been captured (there were several instances of time shortage!), but overall, the photos that were captured were great. Check back for links to view/order copies of the prints.
Finally got back home today after Departures hell yesterday when our flight back from Heathrow to Chicago was cancelled due to some "chemical spill" on the flight in the cargo hold. We were tapped at Heathrow for a "random security check," which we worried would make us late for good seats in check-in. Luckily, because of the inconvenience of the check, the great gate agent bumped our seats up to business class. Sweet!

26 october 2002:
We had our blessing ceremony in Biddestone, near Bath on this day. The church was wonderful (more than 1000 years old!), the vicar was lots of fun, the guests were great (really know how to party), and the manor house where the reception and our room were was outstanding.
We did it! We got married! It was a beautiful day that will continue to give us warm fuzzies for a very, very long time. Our guests were the tops, our minister was wonderful beyond belief, all our vendors were great, and the weather was mostly good. Such a relief to find that all that planning does pay off. Unfortunately, we had not completed our guest favors of CD's (though we did complete the Chinese carryout boxes of Hugs and Kisses from the Mr. and Mrs.). We'll be sending the CD favors with our thank you notes.
12 october 2002:
Giao's completed her Certificate Program in Graphic Design at the Illinois Institute of Art! If you know of anyone who would like some graphic design (stationery, logos, invitations, etc....) done, send them Giao's way!
